Blackbaud Security Notice

Security Notice and Our Donors
We want you to know about a matter that we were notified about on July 16, 2020. The technology provider, Blackbaud, experienced a security event that involved many of their clients worldwide, including Baptist Health Foundation. Blackbaud advised us that its Raiser’s Edge database, which stores our Baptist Health and Wolfson Children’s Hospital donor data, was involved in the incident. The situation is now resolved, and we have no reason to believe that our donors’ financial information was compromised.

Blackbaud has worked with the FBI and has assured us that the individual did not access donors’ credit card information, bank account information, or Social Security Number. Baptist Health’s information security team is working together with leading third-party privacy experts to investigate whether any other information may have been accessible. We value your trust and patience as we continue to investigate this matter.

As a best practice, we recommend you monitor for improper use of your personal information and, if you ever encounter suspicious activity, immediately report it to local law enforcement. Baptist Health Foundation will only contact you about this event if additional helpful information becomes available and if your information is determined to be impacted. We will not contact you to ask for your full Social Security Number, or your credit card or bank information. We recommend that you do not respond to outside requests for this type of personal information.

Please be assured that we carefully select our vendors and we believe Blackbaud, as an industry-leading technology provider, has the resources and expertise to respond quickly and effectively to security events such as this. For more details on their response to this event, visit Blackbaud’s website.
